51% Tempranillo / 37% Touriga Nacional / 12% Tinto Cão
Deep ruby/violet color. The nose is well composed reminiscent of dried herbs, tobacco and warm cherry compote. The palate is broad and expansive. Notes of red licorice, cinnamon spice and dried mushrooms, compliment the fruit profile which consists of a counter balancing mix of berries and cured meats. The structure on the wine suggests a fine aging potential of up to ten years for those who enjoy cellaring wine. This unusual blend is a great food wine, not too fruity and not too austere. It pairs well with anything you may want to throw on the grill from a ribeye to pork tenderloin to portabella mushrooms.
