Tasting Notes
The wine maintains a bit of youthful color, but nonetheless, exhibits the classic aromas and flavors of roasted hazelnuts, caramel and a hint of orange peel which are synonymous with tawny ports. Due to the extended barrel-aging, the brandy is now interwoven into the port’s flavor profile creating a smooth and silky-textured wine. The flavors are more delicate, less robust, and lend their focus to sweet holiday spices, rum cake and plum sauce, finishing with a touch of vanilla bean.
