50% Touriga Nacional, 18% Tinto Cão, 18% TIinto Roriz, 14% Souzão - This is our very first bottling with the addition of Tinto Roriz, also known as Tempranillo, making this 2010 Violeta one step closer to its’ Douro brethren.  The color is dark, brooding and opaque.  The nose possesses a classic mix of spice and fruit with that signature aroma and finish of dark chocolate derived from the Touriga Nacional grape.  This is our fifth bottling of Violeta, and the consistency of style is remarkable.  A hint of bergamot, sumptuous flavors of plum and currant and that decadent chocolaty richness; these are the elements that define our Violeta port wine.  This wine can be enjoyed over the next decade, our tribute to the finest port wines of the Duoro Valley.
